The District Nurses are highly qualified nurses who have undergone further extensive training to enable them to specialise in providing high quality care to patients in the Community. Home visits are made at the discretion of the District Nurse and are usually only made to patients who are unable to get out of the house, or have been assessed by the District Nurse as having a physical and/or medical problem which prevents them from attending the surgery. The District Nurses also hold wound clinics and 'doppler' clinics. |
